Swann Engineering Group has established training programmes in place at trade apprentice, degree apprentice, and graduate entry levels. Our graduate scheme is aligned with the Institution of Civil Engineers’ (ICE) professional qualification framework.
Ensuring a thorough and supportive learning environment is at the forefront of all our apprenticeships, with opportunities such as Metalwork Fabrication, Climbing Training (including Telecoms Passports), First Aid Training, Crane Training, Fire Warden Training, and many more. We also offer the chance to learn varying skills from each department within the organisation. Find out more about our apprenticeship and graduate programmes below:
Our trade apprenticeship are the ideal pathway into the technical trades within Swann Engineering Group, and present the perfect opportunity to gain vital qualifications whilst learning a trade hands-on. Swann Engineering Group has developed a strong working relationship with Colchester Institute to help train and develop our future talent.
A trade apprenticeship with Swann Engineering Group Ltd offers the opportunity to learn work- based skills and develop these through personal projects, whilst also contributing to real world output. Recent personal engineering projects have included the manufacture of items such as a helter-skelter, body armour, garden gates, and others. These projects allow our apprentices to refine their skill set in a fun and safe environment, whilst learning how our factories operate, the processes behind a market-leading engineering company, and how their future may look within the industry.
All our trade apprentices work towards a Level 3 and Level 4 Higher National Diploma, with a potential pathway to our Degree Apprenticeship scheme.

Our Degree Apprenticeships are ideal for school leavers who are looking for an alternative route to obtaining a degree. They offer a ‘hands-on’ experience, mixing full-time employment with part-time studying.
Our degree apprentices work alongside our CAD/Production Engineering Team, Civil/Structural Engineering Team, and Projects & Commercial Management Team.
Our most recent year of Degree Apprentices are currently enrolled in the first year of their BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering Degrees at Anglia Ruskin University, which is focused on the production side of engineering. The course content brings our apprentices to the forefront of the industry, allowing for innovative and creative thinking to flourish. We also offer a chance to study for an Engineering Degree through Colchester Institute.
