Business Development Manager – Telecoms

Department: Telecoms

Main Location: Flexible (With UK Travel). HQ’d to office in Braintree, Essex.

Reports to: Business Development Manager

Direct Reports: N/A

The Main Purpose of the Job:

The successful candidate will use their existing strong understanding of the UK’s telecoms tower market to lead on our business’ development, sales and relationship management within this sector. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, you will operate across our portfolio of companies to identify and secure telecoms business opportunities, growing sustainable revenues and building a team to ensure customer satisfaction in all our telecoms activities.

Duties Include:

  • Lead on developing our telecoms tower business, using strategic understanding and innovative solutions to re-enforce relationships with existing clients
  • Obtain and develop new business relationships, sourcing sales leads through effective networking across the telecoms tower industry
  • Identify upcoming projects, and lead on the bid preparation for these projects, including cost estimation and tender preparation and presentation
  • Raise the group’s profile within the telecom tower industry, promoting and developing the group’s range of capabilities, and ensuring that these are appropriately marketed to clients. Assist with the upkeep of business profile documentation and website
  • Understand the resource requirements to deliver upcoming projects successfully and ensure that the operational team are informed accordingly
  • Monitor and understand the status and likely outcome of live projects
  • Maintain a comprehensive CRM profile, prepare annual sales budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Support wider business development in other sectors, including the referral of potential business to other sector managers
  • Fulfill other duties appropriate to the level of this role

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Proven experience and success in business development and B2B marketing
  • An excellent understanding of the UK telecoms tower market
  • Excellent communication, organizational and presentational skills
  • Thorough, analytical and innovative approach
  • Cost estimation and tender preparation experience
  • Computer literate and conversant in the use of Microsoft office automation software
  • Full driving license

Preferred:

  • Degree in an engineering related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience selling steel structures or infrastructure works
