CAD Technician – Technical Division

The Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide design, assembly and manufacturing drawings by interpreting mechanical/structural designs. To support the CAD requirements of the business and issue clear and comprehensive drawings into the factory for fabrication. The role will also involve problem solving and defining innovative solutions for steelwork structures, including telecoms, outdoor media and radar structures. The role will interact with Structural Engineers on a daily basis to develop best practice and value engineered solutions.

Duties Include:

• Prepare proposal, assembly and manufacturing drawings where required.
• Prepare relevant part/cutting lists.
• Order materials.
• Design and problem solving.
• 3D CAD/Tekla drawings.
• Foundation Drawings.

Qualifications:

• Solid Technical background and experience in steelwork draughting.
• Formal qualification in CAD or a course that has appropriate CAD modules (i.e NVQ or City & Guilds).
• Excellent Communication and organisational skills.
• CAD Experience. (AutoCAD 2D and 3D).
• Tekla Experience.
• Computer literate and conversant in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Outlook.
