We are delighted to announce that Rich Holding, Technical Director at Swann, has been nominated as a finalist for the prestigious ITP Mentor of the Year award. This recognition highlights his exceptional commitment to developing and inspiring the next generation of engineers.
Rich has been with Swann for over 10 years and has become a driving force in shaping the careers of apprentices and graduates. As Supervising Civil Engineer for the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), he has guided graduates to achieve both Chartered (CEng) and Incorporated (IEng) status. He was also instrumental in creating and developing Swann’s Degree and Craft Apprenticeship programmes, which continue to flourish under his leadership.
Through tailored guidance, constructive feedback, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed, Rich has transformed careers across the business. Thanks to Rich’s approach, Swann has had great retention rates within the Degree Apprentice programme since it began three years ago.
Rich is known throughout the business for his ability to recognise potential, even in individuals who may have been overlooked elsewhere, and for creating the right support structures to help them thrive. His nomination as an ITP Mentor of the Year finalist is a testament to the positive and lasting impact he has made on so many careers, both within Swann and across the industry.
We are proud to see Rich recognised on this national stage and wish him the very best of luck at the upcoming awards.
