The Main Purpose of the Job:

We take our Manufacturing Apprentice scheme seriously which is now in its 3rd year. In this role, the Manufacturing Apprentice Mentor will be responsible for the monitoring of apprentice progress in achieving Metal Fabricator, Level 3 Full Time or Part time hours will be considered. Mainly based in the Apprentice Area on the days Apprentices are at college you will support in the Factory.

Duties Include:

• Support Apprentice training in a blended learning approach that includes coaching, individual and group training.
• Mentor Apprentices towards achievement of their Apprenticeship programme providing a coaching style approach appropriate to each learner.
• Report to Manufacturing Director on progress or where objectives need adjusting.
• Monitor apprentice log- books and their progression through objectives set and by supporting the Colchester Institute relationship.
• Line Manager responsibilities include of recording and managing Apprentice absence and holiday and seeking guidance from HR on any performance related issues.
• Promote good HS&E practices and awareness ensuring at minimum statutory requirements are upheld within the Apprentice Team using the H&S Manager as key stakeholder support

Fabrication/Welding expertise
A self-motivated and effective team player who possesses excellent communication and organisational skills
A flexible trainer who can adapt style to different learners
Previous apprenticeships/management/teaching experience or a desire to share your skills with early career apprentices.

Salary: £14.45-£16.08 per hour
