Sponsored Rugby Event Raises Over £10,000 for Charity

On Thursday 18th April 2019, the Swann Group sponsored Commons and Lords rugby team took part in a game at Twickenham, the home of rugby, raising over £5,000 each for the Injured Players Foundation (IPF) and Try for Change charities.

Matt Hill, Design Manager at Clearvision Lighting (part of the Swann Group) took part in the game and scored an impressive try towards the end. The scores were very close with two points (29-31) separating the teams. Congratulations to Veseyans who picked up the victory and a very well done to the Commons and Lords RUFC on a valiant effort.

Well done to all involved.

The Injured Players Foundation

The Injured Players Foundation provide immediate and lifelong support to rugby players who sustain a catastrophic spinal cord or traumatic brain injury. The IFP also provide information and support to family members, clubs and team mates following such incidents, particularly in relation to how they can help the player with their recovery or adjustment to a new life and empower injured players to live a full and independent life, and to support players and their families in any way possible. The main aim of the IFP is to fund research into the causes and outcomes of serious injury, identifying the best ways to prevent and treat it.
