It was fantastic to be back among familiar and fresh faces at this year’s Mast and Tower Safety (MATS) Group Conference at the Building Society Arena in Coventry.
After several years of being restricted to Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings, the ability to interact face-to-face with our industry partners, colleagues and clients was a hugely exciting and valuable experience and another welcome step back towards normality for our industry after the pandemic.
The MATS Conference has always been an event that has enabled Swann Engineering Group to reinforce our well-established working relationships as well as an opportunity to meet new contacts across our expansive and ever-changing industry.
A particular highlight for us at this year’s event was the inclusion of our Technical & Business Development Directors in the Conference Programme. Their 15-minute presentation highlighted the impact of 5G on Macro Telecoms Infrastructure and discussed how Swann’s products and services are adapting to meet the updated requirements.
Our showcase video reel featured on our exhibition stand at this year’s event and highlights just some of our recent telecommunication structural deployment projects!
Jeff Carlton, Swann Engineering Group Ltd.’s Managing Director, commented:
“The MATS event is a great forum to catch up with clients and network with new faces from across our industry – an opportunity that has been sorely missed over the last few years. The Conference Programme in particular was most informative, and we welcomed the opportunity to showcase Swann Engineering Group Ltd.’s pro-active approach in overcoming the multifaceted challenges of safe structural design upgrades to existing towers”.
Stephen Armstrong, Technical Director at Swann Engineering Group Ltd, who participated in our MATS Conference Programme presentation, commented:
“It was great to participate in the Conference Programme at this year’s event and have the opportunity to share our observations from the assessment work we complete for the industry.
This field of work is becoming ever more complex, in part, due to Clients recognising the need for more detailed checks on headframes and mounting brackets, and ensuring the structural integrity of telecoms structures has never been more important with the recent increases in equipment loads.
It was also good to see the diverse range of suppliers attending the event and to catch up on current best practices and innovations from across the industry. I have added a few items of equipment to my shopping list!”
Mike Morris, our Business Development Director, who also delivered our presentation during the Conference Programme, noted:
“The MATS Conference has always proven to be a valuable experience for Swann Engineering Group Ltd and the appetite for exhibiting at this year’s event has only increased following the pandemic. The invitation to present during this year’s Conference Programme was most welcome and provided us with an opportunity to discuss how we as an organisation are ready for the next generation of telecommunication structural requirements”.
Ellie Parnham, Health, Safety & Environmental Manager for Swann Engineering Group Ltd, commented:
“It was a privilege to attend the Mast and Tower Safety Conference in my role as Swann Engineering Group Ltd.’s Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, as the event featured a diverse range of exhibitors who specialise in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our workforce whilst conducting operations at height.
We are always looking to continually improve upon our well-established health and safety culture here at Swann and being able to network with other professionals from across our industry provided thought-provoking initiatives that we can consider implementing throughout our own organisation. This year’s Conference Programme was particularly powerful and reinforced just how crucial health and safety protocols are when protecting the safety of our workforce”.
David Poynter, our Telecoms Operational Director, noted:
“This year’s MATS Conference was a great event which allowed the industry to come together again and share new innovations that can further progress our own culture of health and safety awareness”.
Graham Knight, Swann Engineering Group Ltd.’s Telecoms Sales Manager, also commented:
“Attending the Exhibitor’s Village at the MATS conference this year provided an excellent opportunity to meet with industry partners in-person again for the first time since the pandemic, and allowed us to showcase the safety features Swann Engineering Group designs into our wide-ranging structural portfolio.
The keynote speakers featured in the Conference Programme provided insightful presentations and I’m already looking forward to attending the conference next year!”
